In the third quarter of 2024, the social apps scene on Android in Austria witnessed notable trends in downloads, revenue, and active user metrics. Here's how the top five apps performed, based on data from Sensor Tower.

TikTok from TikTok Pte. Ltd. recorded a significant growth in weekly revenue, starting at approximately $436K in early July and reaching nearly $649K by the end of September. Downloads, however, were more variable, starting at around 7K and dipping to about 4.4K mid-quarter before climbing back to approximately 7K. Active user numbers showed a slight fluctuation, with a decrease from around 612K to 593K before a recovery to 613K at the quarter's end.

Instagram exhibited a steady weekly revenue pattern, peaking at about $4.1K in the final week of September. Download numbers remained fairly stable, hovering between 4K and 5.3K throughout the quarter. The app's active user base saw a gradual decline from 1.24M to 1.22M, with a slight uptick towards the end of the period.

Threads, another offering from Instagram, maintained a consistent download trajectory, increasing from 3.8K to over 6K by the end of September. Active users grew from approximately 73K to nearly 80K during the same period, demonstrating an upward trend in engagement.

Facebook by Meta Platforms, Inc. experienced moderate revenue fluctuations, with weekly figures ranging between $1.3K and $2.5K. Downloads showed a slight decline from 4.8K to 3.3K over the quarter. The app's active user count decreased from 1.4M to 1.36M, indicating a slight drop in user engagement.
